Community Centers.

They are your new go-to place where there is an array of classes, comfy seats, bathrooms and space outside of your living room! I spent hours there (and still do!) and made wonderful friends. The Roundhouse community centre has weekly drop-in classes run by a public health nurse, which covers a new topic each week from nursing, to sleeping to swimming. You can also just drop in to weigh your baby and save yourself a trip to the doctors office. Call your local community centre for times as they are not listed online. You can also register for many great postnatal classes the Roundhouse Community Centre here.

The seawall!

Walking is such a great activity and the sea wall is the perfect place for sleepless mom and restless babes. Available anytime, puts babies to sleep, and you get some fresh air. An all around win. The seawall is an amazing place to enjoy the scenery, stop and have a drink and experience life. From the West End east to Yaletown, around to Olympic Village and up to Granville Island has the best stops and places to explore along the way. That is a lot for one day but chose a bit and take it in! Here are the highlights along the Seawall for Moms and babes.

1. Olympic village is great because you can stop at the Creekside Community Centre for a rest or diaper change or Terra Breads for a coffee and snack. If you are really hungry, you can wonder over to Science World and use the Triple O’s take out window and enjoy a burger on the sea wall (that counts for iron, right!?).

2. Granville Island is also great, so many places to eat and the False Creek Community Centre  with a great outdoor park.

3. Yaletown, grab a snack at Urban Fare and sit along the Marina enjoying the view and pop into the Roundhouse Community Centre for a feed and diaper change
